Sa’ada as a Design Practice

Sa’ada is a multi-disciplinary design practice focused on creating physical spaces and media for communities. The practice ranges from community engagement, urban design, exhibition design and architecture.

Our core value is creating with communities, not just for them. Collective art creation is a form of resistance, allowing communities to advocate for themselves. The practice strikes a balance between process and product — transforming the making itself into a form of civic action.

Sa’ada as an Artistic Practice

Sa’ada is a multi-medium artistic practice rooted in visual experimentation especially with and within marginalized communities. The art practice ranges from printmaking, bookmaking, illustration, and digital drawings.

About Sarah Saad

She served as the Staff Designer at NYC Planning in the Community Planning and Civic Engagement division. She focused on creating visual assets to facilitate collaboration and communication between NYC Planning and the communities it serves.

Before joining NYC Planning, she worked at Pure+Applied and Storefront for Art and Architecture, gaining experience in exhibition and graphic design.
